Leona's tonsil trouble


Leona Lewis will be going under the knife to cure a chronic throat problem.

Former X Factor winner Leona is reported to undergo an operation to remove her tonsils after suffering repeated throat infections.

Leona admitted to The Sun: "I've had tonsillitis for the whole of the past week. I've been desperately trying to get better."

A source close to the Hackney-born star added: "She has been told she could need an operation to put an end to the problem. Any operations are scary but for a singer to have a throat op is terrifying."

Usher's Love In This Club is currently occupying the No 1 single position in the US, with Lewis closing on the top spot following a well-received performance on the influential Oprah Winfrey Show.
